Co-Founder, ADK Island Runners
Born in Glens Falls and raised on the waters of Lake George, Knox has spent every summer of his life surrounded by the natural beauty of the Adirondacks. With a family rooted in the area for over 50 years, Lake George has always been more than a destination — it’s home.
From a young age, Knox has embraced everything the lake has to offer: boating, camping, fishing, watersports, and unforgettable days with friends. Inspired by his deep connection to the lake and a desire to serve the community, Knox first dreamed up the idea for ADK Island Runners when he was just 11 years old. Today, that vision has become a reality.
As co-owner of the business, Knox splits responsibilities equally with his partner Jack, working hands-on to provide a reliable, helpful, and environmentally conscious delivery service for campers and boaters across the lake. For Knox, helping others enjoy Lake George — while preserving the place he loves — is a mission that truly means something.
Jack Gillies
Co-Founder, ADK Island Runners
Jack has been spending summers on Lake George for as long as he can remember. Now a full-time summer resident, he’s made the lake a second home — a place where he’s spent countless days fishing, swimming, building fires, and soaking in the timeless beauty of the Adirondacks.
Jack's passion for Lake George runs deeper than recreation. He’s been involved in conservation efforts, including trail maintenance with the Lake George Land Conservancy, and is a strong advocate for eco-friendly tourism on the lake. His respect for the environment and appreciation for the lake's natural charm play a big role in how ADK Island Runners operates.
As co-founder and equal partner in the business, Jack works side by side with Knox to ensure every delivery is smooth, efficient, and respectful of the lake’s unique ecosystem. For Jack, ADK Island Runners isn’t just a business — it’s a chance to support the community, protect the lake, and help others enjoy it the way he always has.
Our mission is to serve an unmet need for Lake George boaters and campers by providing easy access to products that can be challenging to get when in a remote bay, day-use or camping island. In our experience, items such as firewood, water and ice are those which frequently are the biggest pain to transport and which frequently run out quickly.
ADK Island Runners provides a reliable delivery service on Lake George, so that our customers can get the products they need delivered right to their boat or dock.
We strive to provide the highest level of customer service and we’re eager to expand the items we deliver based upon customer demand.
